Waterloo Region Museum is the largest community museum in Ontario with two indoor museum galleries and a 60 acre living history exhibit called Doon Heritage Village that is open seasonally from May 1 to December 23. Our main museum gallery tells the story of Waterloo Region and our feature gallery showcases local and travelling exhibits from around the world. Located on the second floor of the main museum gallery is the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame. The second floor also contains a War Memorial with a virtual list of the names of all those from Waterloo County/Region who have given their lives for their country.

Doon Valley's 18-hole course offers a challenging layout amid expansive natural wetlands. Several holes on this mature course run alongside the Grand River enveloping you in stunning natural surroundings. You may even see an occasional eagle as you attempt to score one of your own. Doon Valley is one of the most popular and affordable courses in southwestern Ontario.

Rockway Golf Course (5 min drive from The Walper Hotel)

A traditional favourite located in the heart of Kitchener, this gorgeous, mature tree-lined course offers a challenge to golf enthusiasts of all skill levels. The beautifully landscaped 18 hole, par 70 course was designed by Stanley Thompson. Built in 1935, Rockway remains one of the finest public golf courses in Ontario
